3) To create a new Synchronization profile, we need to click on the “Synchronization Profiles” setting. Upon clicking on this setting a dialog will be shown. Since we have not created any profile before, this dialog will be empty. However, to create a new profile we need to click on the green plus sign. Once we click on the green plus sign (Add button), another dialog will be shown. Because this plugin is able to work with other services, all the supported services are shown. However, for MailNow6 calendar we use the default selection which is “Generic CalDav/CardDav” and then we click on Ok button.

4) At this time, we should be able to see the configuration page. This page contains various fields which we give a general information about the most important ones in this manual. For now we enter a name for the “Name” field. This is the name of this profile since we could have multiple profiles for one single outlook account.

5) Next, we need to identify the calendar in which we want to sync the MailNow! 6 calendar with. For example, we could use the default outlook calendar or we could create a new calendar typed folder and use it as the MailNow! 6 calendar. This will isolate the local Outlook calendar from the MailNow! 6 calendar. Also, if a user shared his/her calendar with us and we want to be able to see this shared calendar in our outlook we could create a new folder to identify this is another user’s calendar.

Considering the first scenario, if we choose the Outlook default calendar first we should click on the three dots (…) in front of Outlook folder setting. Once we do this we should all the existing outlook folder. At this point, we only choose the default calendar and then we click on the OK button to select this folder as the default Outlook calendar.

6) But if we want to create a new folder and assign it to this sync profile, first from the previous step we need to click on the “New…” button to create a new Calendar folder. Once we click on the “New…” button we are given the ability to create a new folder. In this case we call this new folder “MailNow6Calendar”. Also we ensure “Folder contains” is set to “Calendar Items”. Finally, we select this new folder and click on the OK button to choose this as the default calendar for this sync profile. The following two pictures depict this process.

7) In this manual, we have however chose to use the default Outlook calendar for this sync profile, therefore, we select “Calendar (This computer only)” calendar. This will combine our existing default Outlook calendar and our new MailNow! 6 calendar. At the end we click on the OK button.

8) The following figure shows the rest of necessary fields in which we need to fill to complete this configuration.

The server settings section is the most important part of the configuration. Following is explanation of these important fields.

DAV Url: Here we need to use the CalDav URL which is provided by MailNow! 6. The general format of this URL is as follow:

http://<Domain Name/IP>:8385/cal.php/calendars/<EMAIL ADDRESS>/default/

example: http://10.8.0.123:8385/cal.php/calendars/amelia@internetnow.com.my/default/

Username: This is the email address of the user.
Password: The account password for this email or the password which is provided to you when somebody wants to share his/her calendar with you.

Synchronization Interval: is the time in which Outlook and MailNow calendars sync with each other.

Synchronization timespan past and future: is the amount of the days in the past and the future in which you want to ensure all the events related to these range are synced between MailNow! 6 and Outlook calendars.

9) Once these fields are filled, click on the “Test or Discover Settings” button to ensure your configuration is correct and Outlook can communicate with MailNow! 6 calendar.

10) At this time, the configuration is done and after the first synchronization (automatic) you should be able to see the MailNow! 6 calendar events in Outlook calendar. In order to force the synchronization, however, you can click on the “Synchronize now” button which is also located under the CalDav Synchronizer.
