[INFO] IIS Connector license is not needed for MailNow! 5

You DON'T need to buy Internet Connector license for the IIS if you want to open up MailNow! 5 webmail to the Internet.

Basically Internet Connector license is only needed if you web app authenticates with AD. This could be the case for most intranet sites. But not MailNow! 5 or other public websites. Normally anonymous access is used (i.e the IUSR_XXX account). No AD is involved.
