[PROBLEM] Antispam engine failed to update

On the 15th of November 2012, around 3am Malaysian time, a bad update of the antispam engine was mistakenly made public to MailNow! 5 users. Although this mistake was corrected a few hours later, your MailNow! 5 might have downloaded it. If this is the case you need to manually replace the engine file.

How to check if you are affected
  • In the MailNow! 5 web admin, go to Version and check the version number for vrcpp.dll component.
  • If the version number is 0.0.0.0 then you are affected and need to follow the steps below to correct this.
How to correct this issue
  • Download a working vrcpp.dll from http://www.internetnow.com.my/download/mailnowupdate/v4/vreng.zip
  • Stop your MailNow! 5 service (under Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services)
  • Unzip the downloaded file and overwrite the copy of vrcpp.dll in your MailNow! installation directory. The MailNow! installation directory is normally C:\MailNow\
  • Restart the MailNow! service.
  • Confirm in MailNow! 5 web admin that the version of vrcpp.dll is no longer 0.0.0.0
